HyperProductive was founded with the sole goal of creating a world class information technology consulting company. Our belief is that by consistently acting with integrity and truly partnering with our clients we are able to produce tremendous business value.

The Team:

Joe Parks, Founder and Managing Partner

Joe Parks has 15 years of industry experience applying his passion for technology to the delivery of solid business value. He has 10 years of experience in the Cleveland area, working with local clients to integrate internally and with business partners that span the globe.  Joe is among the top custom software integration architects serving medium and large businesses in northeast Ohio, with an upcoming book (Optimize Early) and related speaking engagements. His application of Throughput Economics to software development is turning heads as these theories are turning into very practical increased bottom lines for clients. As the founder and managing partner of HyperProductive, Joe is building a company around the single driving principle that high quality leads to lower cost and faster delivery.

Joe first started writing software for the Commodore VIC-20. Although he can still write an Asteroids clone that will run in less than 10K of RAM, the scope of his work has expanded over the years. He was a key contributor to the global software development standard for a multi-national energy company, using real business requirements to prove (and disprove) pieces of the architecture outside the “clean room”. He was the chief architect of the headquarters-to-branch service integration for the North American division of an international financial services provider. He is repeatedly called on to siphon the business value out of technical quagmires, to solve the problem at hand and collaborate with clients to address root causes.

Mike Smith, Co-Founder and Managing Partner

Mike Smith has over 12 years of experience in providing value through the wise application of technology. His love for his work has served him well over the years and enabled him to serve his clients even more. Mike studied computer science at Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Mathematics at Cleveland State University. He has built a reputation and career in the greater Cleveland area out of solving business problems with technical solutions.  Mike was first exposed to the Theory of Constraints in Eli Goldratt’s novel “The Goal”, and continues to be amazed by how much productivity can be affected simply by changing one’s approach to problems.

While he once read through the full set of UNIX man pages “for fun”, he has found the opportunity to apply his love of technology to other more immediately useful pursuits. Mike has been the WebSphere subject matter expert for a Fortune 500 bank supporting and designing hundreds of installations.  He has worked both in-house and as a consultant in a host of industries including finance, health care, manufacturing, and packaged consumer goods.  He has extensive experience in administration, development, and QA which gives him a singularly unique perspective when working with his clients.
